Jeff Lorenzo, a 40-year-old resident of Winters, was sentenced to 30 days in prison after pleading guilty to sexual assault under the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States. The sentencing was handed down by U.S. Magistrate Judge Sean C. Riordan, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.

Court documents state that on August 9, 2024, Lorenzo was on a flight from Seattle to Sacramento when he sexually assaulted a 20-year-old woman who had taken the last available seat between him and his co-worker at the back of the plane. During the flight, Lorenzo touched the woman repeatedly without her consent, including grazing her leg with his hand, putting his head near her crotch while pretending to retrieve a dropped phone, and pressing his arm into her breast several times.

Lorenzo’s co-workers reported that he has a history of inappropriate behavior and harassment toward women.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation leading to this case. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicole Moody prosecuted.

“Jeff Lorenzo, 40, of Winters, pleaded guilty and was sentenced today by U.S. Magistrate Judge Sean C. Riordan to 30 days in prison for sexual assault in the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States,” said U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.
