Henry Muller, a 33-year-old resident of San Francisco, was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for offenses related to child sexual abuse material. The sentence was delivered by Senior U.S. District Judge Edward M. Chen on February 12, 2026.

Muller had been indicted by a federal grand jury in July 2023. He pleaded guilty on January 9, 2025, to two counts of production of child pornography, one count of distribution, and one count of receipt. According to court documents and his plea agreement, Muller admitted that on July 12 and July 13, 2022, he unlawfully persuaded a minor victim—referred to as Minor 1—to engage in sexually explicit conduct and recorded videos of those acts. On July 17, 2022, he distributed a video depicting this conduct via the internet. Additionally, on October 17, 2022, Muller received another visual depiction involving a second minor victim (Minor 2) engaged in sexually explicit behavior.

The announcement regarding the sentencing was made by U.S. Attorney Craig H. Missakian and FBI Special Agent in Charge Sanjay Virmani.

Muller has been held in custody since his arrest in 2023 and will begin serving his prison sentence immediately. Following his release from prison, he will be subject to supervised release for fifteen years.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Roland Chang with assistance from Christine Tian and resulted from an investigation conducted by the FBI together with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
