Jordan Anthony Hughes, a 25-year-old resident of Sacramento, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for producing child sexual abuse materials. The sentencing was delivered by U.S. District Judge Daniel J. Calabretta and announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith.
Court documents reveal that Hughes engaged a child under the age of 12 in sexually explicit conduct to create visual depictions of the acts in Sacramento back in September 2022. The abuse reportedly began as early as 2017. Hughes also used the internet to manipulate other minors into sending him explicit images and videos, often pretending to be an underage male himself. Additionally, he distributed these illicit materials while masquerading as someone providing guidance or education on sexual acts.
The investigation was carried out by the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit of the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force, which includes contributions from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and Homeland Security Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Shea J. Kenny prosecuted the case.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse through federal, state, and local resources.
