In a dramatic legal filing, allegations of professional misconduct and betrayal have surfaced against a group of attorneys accused of failing their clients in a multitude of ways. The complaint was filed by 3140 Auburn Boulevard, LLC and Paula Andrea McCreery in the Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento on November 12, 2025, targeting Kevin Hughey, Galen Gentry, and several associated law firms.
The plaintiffs claim that the defendants—Hughey Phillips LLP, Hughey Gentry LLP, and Hughey Law—engaged in professional negligence, breached fiduciary duties, and conducted unfair business practices. These allegations stem from what the plaintiffs describe as concealed transactions and undisclosed conflicts of interest that have caused them significant harm. “Plaintiffs are informed and believe Defendants’ actions… created gross undisclosed actual and/or potential conflicts of interest,” states the complaint. This case highlights serious accusations including elder abuse, fraud, deceit, and breaches of ethical standards which are believed to have led to financial damage for the plaintiffs.
Paula Andrea McCreery brings this action both individually and as trustee for the Thomas D. and P. Andrea McCreery Family Trust. She asserts that she relied on these attorneys to uphold their fiduciary responsibilities but instead found herself facing hidden adversities due to their alleged misconduct. The complaint details how these legal professionals allegedly failed to release crucial client files and communications promptly despite assurances they would do so. As a result, McCreery claims further damage has been inflicted upon her interests.
The plaintiffs are seeking various forms of relief from the court. They demand general compensatory damages alongside punitive measures for what they describe as intentional malfeasance by the defendants. Moreover, they request disgorgement of fees paid to these attorneys under false pretenses as well as injunctive relief to prevent future unethical conduct by these legal entities. The lawsuit also seeks equitable remedies such as restitution or constructive trust over any property wrongfully withheld by the defendants.
Representing the plaintiffs is Parker Taylor Law Group with attorneys Port J. Parker, Jeffrey Einsohn, and Suliman Khan leading the charge against these alleged transgressions in legal ethics. The case has been assigned Case No. 2OotewOY SYS 1a in front of Judge S. Decker at the Superior Court of California in Sacramento County.
