A class action lawsuit has been filed against a prominent company accused of violating labor laws and failing to adequately compensate its employees. On February 27, 2026, Daniil Kryvenkyy and Daniel Warmington filed a complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento, against LeafFilter North, LLC. The plaintiffs allege that the company engaged in numerous unlawful practices that resulted in unpaid wages and other labor violations.

The lawsuit accuses LeafFilter North, LLC, a nationwide provider of gutter protection systems based in Ohio with operations in Sacramento, California, of several violations of the California Labor Code. According to the complaint, the company failed to pay hourly and overtime wages, provide rest and meal periods, issue accurate wage statements, reimburse expenses, and more. The plaintiffs claim that these actions were part of systematic policies that affected not only them but also other similarly situated employees throughout California. “Defendant implemented policies and practices which led to unpaid wages,” states the complaint.

Kryvenkyy and Warmington worked as Leaf Filter Installers for LeafFilter North from early 2018 until mid-2025 and late 2019 until April 2024 respectively. They allege that they were regularly required to perform work without proper compensation for off-the-clock activities or nonproductive tasks separate from piecework. Furthermore, they assert that they were denied compliant rest breaks and meal periods as mandated by law. The lawsuit also highlights issues such as failure to pay all earned wages upon termination or resignation within the legally required timeframe.

The plaintiffs are seeking various forms of relief from the court on behalf of themselves and all other affected employees. They request damages for unpaid wages including minimum wage and overtime compensation along with statutory penalties for inaccurate wage statements. Additionally, they seek reimbursement for business expenses incurred during their employment with LeafFilter North. The lawsuit also demands injunctive relief under California’s Unfair Competition Law to address what it describes as unlawful business practices by the defendant.

Representing Kryvenkyy and Warmington are attorneys Ronald W. Makarem and Samuel Almon from Makarem & Associates APLC. The case is being heard at the Gordon D. Schaber Courthouse under Case No: 260004544.
