A group of former employees has taken legal action against a California corporation, accusing it of multiple labor law violations. The complaint was filed by Brewster Parsons, Maribel Montiel, Ulises Mercado Mejia, and Ashley Garcia on June 25, 2025, in the Superior Court of California for Ventura County against Per Ankh Life Skills, Inc. The plaintiffs allege that the company failed to comply with various provisions of the California Labor Code.

The lawsuit claims that Per Ankh Life Skills, Inc., a corporation operating in California, systematically violated wage-and-hour laws by not paying for all hours worked, including minimum and overtime wages. According to the plaintiffs’ attorneys from Wilshire Law Firm, the company also failed to provide meal and rest periods as required by law. “Defendants regularly required Plaintiffs and the Aggrieved Employees to work in excess of five consecutive hours a day without providing a 30-minute uninterrupted meal period,” states the complaint. Furthermore, it alleges that the company did not maintain accurate records of hours worked or furnish accurate wage statements.

The plaintiffs are seeking civil penalties under the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) on behalf of themselves and other aggrieved employees. They claim that Per Ankh Life Skills’ actions were willful and deliberate, violating several sections of the California Labor Code such as §§ 2699 et seq., which permits employees to seek penalties for labor code violations on behalf of themselves and others. The plaintiffs argue that these violations have caused significant financial harm due to unpaid wages and other employment-related expenses they had to cover out-of-pocket.

The case seeks not only monetary penalties but also injunctive relief to prevent further violations by Per Ankh Life Skills. The plaintiffs are asking for pre-judgment and post-judgment interest at the maximum rate allowed by law, along with attorneys’ fees and costs incurred during litigation. They emphasize that this action is necessary to uphold workers’ rights under California’s stringent labor laws.

Representing the plaintiffs are attorneys Arrash T. Fattahi and John O. Bishay from Wilshire Law Firm. The case is being overseen by Judge Joan Foster under Case No.: 2025 CUIOE04 9463 in Ventura County’s Superior Court.
