In a class action lawsuit filed on November 26, 2025, in the Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento, Vanessa Conejo has taken legal action against BCS Partners, Inc., doing business as Welcome Home Care. The lawsuit alleges a series of labor law violations affecting current and former employees classified as non-exempt or piece-rate workers.

Vanessa Conejo, representing herself and others similarly situated, claims that BCS Partners and Welcome Home Care have systematically violated various provisions of the California Labor Code. These alleged violations include failure to pay minimum and overtime wages, failure to provide required meal and rest periods, inaccurate wage statements, untimely payment of wages upon termination, and failure to reimburse employees for necessary business expenses. Conejo asserts that these practices were part of a broader pattern of unfair competition under California Business & Professions Code §17200 et seq., allowing the company to gain an unfair advantage over competitors by retaining wages due to employees.

The complaint details numerous specific allegations: employees were often required to work off-the-clock without compensation; meal breaks were frequently interrupted or not provided at all; rest periods were denied due to inadequate staffing; and business expenses such as cell phone use and uniform purchases went unreimbursed. Additionally, the company allegedly manipulated timekeeping records to avoid paying for all hours worked and failed to provide accurate itemized wage statements.

Conejo seeks several forms of relief from the court. She demands unpaid wages for all hours worked at the correct rates, including overtime compensation. She also requests penalties for untimely wage payments upon termination and seeks injunctive relief to prevent future violations. The lawsuit aims to secure compensation for affected employees’ economic losses during their employment with BCS Partners.

Representing Vanessa Conejo are attorneys from Zakay Law Group APLC and JCL Law Firm APC. The case is being presided over by Judge J. Sroufe under Case No: PS ywoORPa4A AD.
