Tammy Floyd has taken a bold step in the fight for fair labor practices by filing a class action lawsuit against Gold Country MGR LLC and Golden Holdings, LLC. On February 17, 2026, Floyd filed her complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento, alleging that these companies have systematically violated California’s labor laws.
The lawsuit accuses Gold Country MGR LLC and Golden Holdings, LLC of failing to pay their hourly, non-exempt employees all straight time and overtime wages due. According to the complaint, these companies have maintained policies that require employees to work through meal periods without compensation and fail to provide adequate rest periods as mandated by law. “Throughout the Statutory Period,” the complaint states, “Defendants have had a consistent policy of not paying Plaintiff and similarly situated hourly, non-exempt employees all wages owed.” The alleged violations include breaches of various sections of the California Labor Code and IWC Wage Orders.
Floyd claims that during her employment with these defendants at their senior living community in California, she was not compensated for all hours worked. She asserts that this is part of a broader pattern affecting many other current and former employees. The lawsuit highlights several specific grievances: failure to pay all straight time wages; failure to pay all overtime wages; failure to provide meal periods; failure to authorize rest periods; knowing failure to comply with wage statement provisions; and violation of unfair competition laws.
The plaintiff seeks multiple forms of relief from the court. These include compensatory damages for unpaid wages, penalties for missed meal and rest breaks, injunctive relief to prevent future violations, restitution for unfair business practices under California’s Unfair Competition Law (UCL), and attorney fees. Additionally, Floyd demands a jury trial to address these grievances.
