Albert Gonzalez has filed a class action lawsuit against his former employer, alleging a range of labor law violations that could affect numerous employees. The complaint was filed on October 10, 2025, in the Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento, targeting Security Contractor Services, Inc. for alleged unlawful employment practices.
Gonzalez claims that Security Contractor Services systematically failed to pay minimum and overtime wages, neglected to provide legally mandated meal and rest breaks, and did not reimburse necessary business expenses. He worked as an hourly employee from June 27, 2024, to April 15, 2025, during which he asserts he was paid $20.70 per hour but often worked more than eight hours a day or forty hours a week without appropriate compensation. The lawsuit details accusations of employees being required to work off-the-clock during meal periods and being denied rest breaks while remaining on call. These practices allegedly violate multiple sections of the California Labor Code and the Industrial Welfare Commission Wage Orders.
The plaintiff seeks compensation for unpaid wages and penalties for these alleged violations under various California laws including Cal. Lab. Code §§ 1182.12 (minimum wage), § 510 (overtime), § 226.7 (meal/rest periods), and § 2802 (expense reimbursement). Gonzalez is also pursuing waiting time penalties under Cal. Lab. Code §§ 201-203 for wages not paid upon termination of employment.
Gonzalez’s legal team is seeking class certification for all similarly situated current and former hourly non-exempt employees who worked for Security Contractor Services in California over the past four years. The lawsuit demands restitution for unpaid wages, statutory penalties, interest on unpaid amounts, attorney fees, and other relief deemed appropriate by the court.
Representing Gonzalez are attorneys Carolyn H. Cottrell, Ori Edelstein, and Philippe M.J. Gaudard from Schneider Wallace Cottrell Konecky LLP. The case has been assigned Case No. pending in front of the Superior Court of California in Sacramento County.
