In a dramatic legal filing, a California resident is seeking justice after allegedly suffering from medical malpractice that led to severe complications and permanent injuries. Natasha Rhea Warwick filed a complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento, on October 8, 2025, against Dr. Ethan Lee and several associated medical entities.
The lawsuit centers around allegations of negligence during the medical treatment Warwick received following a car accident on February 11, 2023. After being transported to Mercy San Juan Medical Center for surgery on her severely fractured leg, Warwick claims she developed an E. Coli infection due to improper sterilization procedures during an operation performed by Dr. Ethan Lee on February 20, 2023. The infection purportedly went undiagnosed despite multiple follow-up appointments where symptoms were evident. As stated in the complaint, “Plaintiff presented clear signs of infection… with no change in medical plan and no culture test of wound.”
Warwick accuses Dr. Lee and the other defendants—Orthopedic Trauma Surgeons of Northern California and Dignity Health dba Mercy Medical San Juan Medical Center—of failing to provide the standard care expected from reputable healthcare providers. The plaintiff asserts that these failures resulted in prolonged suffering and additional surgeries to remove contaminated implants and address ongoing complications from the infection.
Seeking redress for her grievances, Warwick demands compensation exceeding $35,000 for general damages related to pain and suffering, as well as special damages covering past and future medical expenses. She also seeks reimbursement for lost earnings due to her inability to work while recovering from her injuries.
Represented by attorney Robert Warwick, Natasha Rhea Warwick is determined to hold those responsible accountable for their alleged lapses in professional duty. The case has been assigned Case No: SC OS Ot under Judge N. Young’s jurisdiction at the Superior Court of California in Sacramento County.
