A California man is suing a Sacramento hospital and a doctor for alleged medical malpractice that led to severe complications, including multiple surgeries and significant personal suffering. Ahmed Ali filed the complaint on October 14, 2025, in the Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento, against Methodist Hospital of Sacramento and Dr. Harry A. Khasigian.
The lawsuit details a harrowing series of events beginning on May 27, 2024, when Ali sought treatment at Methodist Hospital for what was initially diagnosed as cellulitis. Despite being prescribed antibiotics, his condition worsened significantly over the following days. By June 2, Ali’s situation had deteriorated to a life-threatening state, prompting his admission to the hospital. However, from June 2 to June 5, he alleges no medical treatment was provided despite his worsening condition and severe pain.
Ali accuses the defendants of negligence for failing to adhere to standard care practices during his hospitalization. The complaint states that contradictory medical opinions were ignored when Dr. Khasigian proceeded with surgery despite other specialists advising against it based on negative imaging results and recommending non-surgical treatments instead.
Following surgery on June 8, Ali claims he received inadequate post-operative instructions which led to prolonged use of a wound vacuum device without proper guidance or monitoring. This lack of care allegedly resulted in further complications requiring additional surgery on July 20 after Dr. Khasigian admitted malpractice by stating: “We fucked up.”
Ali seeks general and special damages for physical pain, emotional distress, loss of income due to inability to work as an accountant and realtor, permanent scarring, ongoing medical expenses, and other related losses. He also demands a jury trial for all issues triable by jury under California law.
Representing Ahmed Ali is attorney James L. Arrasmith from The Law Offices of James L. Arrasmith with provisional attorney Sebastian Bendeck assisting in the case identified as Case No. 2Sermrovt4asaos in front of Judge James L. Arrasmith.
