In a dramatic legal confrontation, a former employee has filed a class action lawsuit against a major food retailer, alleging extensive violations of California labor laws. The complaint was lodged by Braden Robinson in the Superior Court of California for the County of Ventura on September 2, 2025, targeting Food Ventures North America, Inc., operating as Wild Fork Foods.

The case outlines numerous grievances against Wild Fork Foods, including allegations that the company systematically underpaid its hourly and non-exempt employees. Robinson claims that from November 2021 to January 2023, during his tenure as a Sales Leader at their Thousand Oaks location, he and other employees were subjected to “wage abuse.” This purported abuse included working off-the-clock without compensation, not receiving proper overtime pay, and being denied meal and rest breaks as mandated by law. Furthermore, Robinson accuses the company of failing to provide accurate wage statements and neglecting to reimburse necessary business expenses.

Robinson’s complaint highlights specific violations of several sections of the California Labor Code. These include failure to pay minimum wages (Sections 1194, 1197), unpaid overtime (Sections 510 and 1198), meal break violations (Sections 226.7 and 512(a)), rest break violations (Section 226.7), untimely payment of wages during employment (Sections 204 and 210), wage statement inaccuracies (Section 226(a)), untimely final wages upon termination (Sections 201-203), failure to reimburse business expenses (Sections 2800 and 2802), and engaging in unfair business practices under the Business & Professions Code Sections 17200 et seq.

The plaintiff seeks comprehensive relief from the court. This includes class certification for all similarly affected employees in California over the past four years, appointment as class representative with Blackstone Law APC as class counsel, and full disclosure of contact information for all potential class members. Robinson is demanding general unpaid wages along with statutory penalties for each alleged violation. Additionally, he seeks pre-judgment interest on unpaid amounts, liquidated damages where applicable, attorneys’ fees, costs incurred during litigation, and any further relief deemed appropriate by the court.
