A former employee has taken legal action against a corporation, alleging a series of employment law violations that have left him financially and emotionally distressed. The complaint was filed by Alfonso Gardeazabal on August 20, 2025, in the Superior Court of California for the County of Santa Clara against Localtech USA Inc. The lawsuit outlines claims including disability discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, unpaid wages, and breaches of confidentiality.

Alfonso Gardeazabal began his tenure with Localtech USA Inc. on January 2, 2025, as a Senior NA Community Manager. With two decades of experience in his field, Gardeazabal quickly noticed a lack of structure within the company. He informed his supervisor about his neuroatypical condition—ADHD—which affects how he processes information and expressed his need for written communication to better understand company procedures. However, rather than accommodating his needs, Gardeazabal alleges that his supervisor became increasingly impatient and discourteous towards him. This behavior escalated when he requested assistance for tasks outside regular hours and was met with criticism despite similar requests from colleagues being accepted without issue.

The situation worsened when Gardeazabal took medical leave from March 11 to April 18, 2025, due to anxiety and depression. During this period, he discovered through meeting transcripts that his supervisor had disclosed his medical diagnosis to colleagues without consent and belittled the seriousness of his mental health issues. Upon returning to work on April 21, he continued facing hostility until he was terminated on July 1, 2025.

Gardeazabal’s complaint accuses Localtech USA Inc. of violating several California laws including the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) by discriminating against him based on disability and retaliating against him for taking medical leave. He also cites wrongful termination in violation of public policy and failure to pay all owed wages upon termination as per Labor Code §§ 201-203. Furthermore, he claims breach of confidentiality under the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act due to unauthorized disclosure of his health information.

The plaintiff seeks various forms of relief from the court: compensatory damages for lost earnings and emotional distress; punitive damages for malicious conduct; penalties under labor codes; reimbursement for legal fees; and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court.

Representing Alfonso Gardeazabal is Laurel N. Haag from Buchsbaum & Haag LLP law firm based in Long Beach, California. The case is presided over by Judge M. Arechiga under Case ID: 29CV473238.
