A former employee has taken legal action against a Delaware corporation, alleging severe labor violations under California law. The complaint was filed by Princ Gomez Nava on November 10, 2025, in the Superior Court of California for Santa Clara County against Gaatu, Inc., a Delaware corporation. The lawsuit accuses the company of multiple breaches of the California Labor Code and demands penalties under the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA).

The plaintiff, Princ Gomez Nava, claims that during his employment from 2022 to June 2025 at Gaatu’s warehouse in Santa Clara County, he and other employees were subjected to unlawful labor practices. These included failure to pay minimum wages, overtime wages, and double overtime wages as required by law. “Defendants regularly failed to pay them the minimum wage and straight-time wages for all hours that Plaintiff and other non-exempt employees worked,” the complaint states. Additionally, Nava alleges that Gaatu did not provide legally mandated meal periods or rest breaks. For instance, it is claimed that employees were denied a second meal period when working more than ten hours per day.

Nava further accuses Gaatu of failing to maintain accurate payroll records and providing incorrect wage statements. This includes not showing gross wages earned or total hours worked accurately on pay stubs, which violates sections of the California Labor Code such as §§ 226(a) and 1174(d). The complaint highlights how these actions resulted in unpaid wages at discharge or resignation times.

In seeking justice through this lawsuit, Nava requests civil penalties as stipulated under PAGA. Specifically, he seeks $100 per aggrieved employee per pay period for each violation or statutory penalties provided by specific Labor Code statutes. Moreover, Nava demands injunctive relief to prevent future violations and seeks compensation for attorney’s fees and costs incurred due to this legal action.

Representing Nava is attorney Steven S. Elster from the Law Office of Steven Elster based in Concord, CA. The case has been assigned Case No.: 25CV479681 in front of the Superior Court of California for Santa Clara County.
