A former employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against a California-based company, alleging numerous labor law violations. Darlyn Cortez Vasquez initiated the complaint on October 20, 2025, in the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara, targeting her former employer Lulu’s at Town & Country Village Inc.
The lawsuit accuses Lulu’s at Town & Country Village Inc. of systematically underpaying its hourly and non-exempt employees by failing to compensate them for all hours worked, including overtime and minimum wages. The complaint also highlights the company’s failure to provide mandated meal and rest breaks, as well as timely payment of wages during employment and upon termination. Vasquez claims that these practices violate several sections of the California Labor Code, including sections 1194, 1197, 226.7, and others related to wage statements and reimbursement for business expenses.
Vasquez worked as a cashier from October 2023 to December 2024 at the company’s Palo Alto location. She alleges that she was required to work off-the-clock without compensation and was not provided with adequate meal or rest breaks. The complaint asserts that this pattern of wage abuse is prevalent among other current and former employees who are similarly situated.
The plaintiff seeks various forms of relief from the court, including unpaid wages, statutory penalties, interest on unpaid amounts, attorney’s fees, and liquidated damages. Additionally, Vasquez requests class certification for all affected employees within four years prior to filing the complaint through final judgment.
Represented by attorneys Ryan A. Quadrel, Shelby L. Miner, and Joseph O. Marshall from Blackstone Law APC in Beverly Hills, Vasquez demands a jury trial to address these grievances. The case is identified under Case No.: 29CV478109 in front of Judge J. Nguyen.
