Arturo Vargas has taken legal action against a major automotive company, alleging multiple breaches of warranty and violations of consumer protection laws. On November 12, 2025, Arturo Vargas filed a complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara, against FCA US LLC. The lawsuit accuses the defendant of breaching both implied and express warranties and violating the Song Beverly Consumer Warranty Act.

The plaintiff, Arturo Vargas, claims that his newly purchased 2022 Jeep Compass was defective from the outset. According to the complaint, FCA US LLC failed to provide a vehicle that met reasonable safety and quality standards. “At the time the VEHICLE was delivered to Plaintiff, it was not in a merchantable condition,” states the complaint. Despite repeated attempts to repair the vehicle under warranty terms provided by FCA US LLC, Vargas alleges that the car continued to malfunction and posed safety risks. The lawsuit highlights several mechanical issues with the vehicle that were not caused by misuse or modifications by Vargas.

Vargas’s legal action is built on three primary causes: breach of implied warranty, breach of express warranty, and violation of the Song Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. Each cause details how FCA US LLC allegedly failed its obligations under California law. The complaint argues that FCA did not fulfill its promise to deliver a safe and reliable vehicle nor did it adequately address these failures through repairs or replacement as mandated by law. As a result of these alleged breaches, Vargas claims he suffered significant financial losses related to financing and maintaining an unreliable vehicle.

In seeking justice from the court, Arturo Vargas requests various forms of relief including rescission of the purchase agreement for his Jeep Compass, reimbursement for costs incurred due to vehicle defects such as repair expenses and attorney fees, as well as civil penalties for willful violations by FCA US LLC. The case underscores important consumer rights issues regarding warranty enforcement and manufacturer accountability in California.

Representing Arturo Vargas is Arye C. Abraham from Abraham Law PC. The case has been assigned Case No: 25CV479868 at the Superior Court of California in Santa Clara County.
