A California resident has taken legal action against a major automobile manufacturer, alleging multiple violations of consumer protection laws. On September 12, 2025, Mavis Elaine Theodorou-Husk filed a complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of Ventura, against Ford Motor Company. The lawsuit accuses Ford of breaching both express and implied warranties under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and engaging in unfair business practices.
The plaintiff, Mavis Elaine Theodorou-Husk, claims that after purchasing a 2024 Lincoln Nautilus on June 28, 2024, she encountered numerous defects that significantly impaired the vehicle’s use and safety. Despite multiple repair attempts by authorized facilities, these issues persisted. The complaint argues that Ford failed to either replace the defective vehicle or provide restitution as required by law. “Defendants violated the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act by failing to conform the Vehicle to the express written warranties within a reasonable number of repair attempts,” states the filing.
The case also alleges breaches under California Business and Professions Code ยง 17200 for unfair competition. According to the complaint, Ford engaged in unlawful and fraudulent business practices by knowingly selling vehicles with defective components and failing to inform consumers about their warranty rights. “Defendant FORD MOTOR COMPANY intentionally placed the Subject Vehicle, with defective components, into the stream of commerce,” reads a section of the document.
Mavis Elaine Theodorou-Husk seeks several forms of relief from the court. These include rescission of the sales contract, actual damages amounting to $88,698.82 plus consequential damages, restitution for all payments made towards the vehicle, civil penalties double her actual damages under the Song-Beverly Act, and attorney’s fees. Additionally, she requests injunctive relief to prevent further violations by Ford and an order requiring them to account for profits gained through unfair competition.
Representing Mavis Elaine Theodorou-Husk are attorneys Neal F. Morrow III from MES Legal Inc., located in Torrance, CA; Ryan K. Marden; and Brian T. Yasuzawa from Marden Law Inc., based in Irvine, CA. The case is presided over by Judge K. Bieker under Case No.: 2025CLUIPLOS0828.
