A class action lawsuit has been filed against a healthcare corporation in California, alleging multiple violations of labor laws that have affected numerous employees. On August 22, 2025, Nicole Dennis filed the complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento, against Elica Health Centers. The lawsuit claims that the defendant engaged in unlawful employment practices that deprived employees of their rightful wages and benefits.
The complaint outlines a series of allegations against Elica Health Centers, including failure to pay overtime wages as required by California Labor Code §§ 510 and 1198. It is alleged that employees were made to work more than eight hours a day or forty hours a week without receiving the appropriate overtime compensation. Furthermore, the plaintiff accuses the defendant of not providing legally mandated meal and rest breaks, as stipulated under California Labor Code §§ 226.7 and 512(a). The suit also claims that Elica Health Centers failed to pay minimum wages according to Labor Code §§ 1194, 1197, and 1197.1.
Nicole Dennis argues that these violations are part of a broader pattern of wage abuse by Elica Health Centers. She alleges that the company did not provide accurate wage statements or maintain proper payroll records as required by law. “Defendants knew or should have known,” states the complaint, “that Plaintiff and other class members were entitled to receive certain wages for overtime compensation.” Additionally, it is claimed that business-related expenses incurred by employees were not reimbursed.
The lawsuit seeks various forms of relief from the court. Among them are unpaid wages at both regular and overtime rates, penalties for missed meal and rest periods, statutory penalties for inaccurate wage statements, and reimbursement for business expenses. The plaintiff also demands pre-judgment interest on any unpaid compensation from when such amounts were due. Moreover, injunctive relief is sought to ensure compliance with labor laws moving forward.
Representing Nicole Dennis is Arby Aiwazian from Lawyers for Justice, PC based in Glendale, California. The case has been assigned Case No.: 4 S03″ O20 Sa in the Superior Court of California for the County of Sacramento.
