A class-action lawsuit has been filed against two prominent California corporations, accusing them of widespread labor violations affecting numerous employees. The complaint was lodged by Sarah Garcia in the Superior Court of California, County of Ventura, on August 25, 2025, targeting AMPAK Enterprises, Inc., and Del Taco LLC.

Sarah Garcia’s lawsuit alleges that AMPAK Enterprises and Del Taco LLC have consistently violated California labor laws. The case outlines several grievances: failure to provide meal and rest periods as mandated by law, failure to pay hourly and overtime wages accurately, not indemnifying employees for necessary business expenses, and not paying all final wages promptly upon termination or resignation. Garcia claims these actions breach multiple sections of the California Labor Code and the Business & Professions Code concerning unfair competition. “Defendants maintained a policy or practice of failing to provide Plaintiff and all other similarly situated individuals with meal periods,” states the complaint. This is just one example of the alleged systemic issues faced by current and former non-exempt employees under the defendants’ employment.

The plaintiff seeks various forms of relief from the court. These include unpaid wages, actual damages, liquidated damages, restitution for lost earnings due to unfair competition practices, statutory penalties for labor code violations, civil penalties for unlawful business practices, pre-judgment interest on owed amounts, reimbursement for legal costs incurred during litigation, and reasonable attorneys’ fees. Furthermore, Garcia demands injunctive relief to prevent future violations by the defendants.

Representing Sarah Garcia are attorneys Shaun Setareh (SBN 204514), Thomas Segal (SBN 222791), and Farrah Grant (SBN 293898) from Setareh Law Group based in Beverly Hills. The case is being heard under Case No. FOPSCIIOED4SS449 in front of Judge K.K. Bieker at the Ventura Superior Court.
