On February 9, 2026, Joseph Luis Alamo of Madera was sentenced to one year and a day in prison for assaulting an employee of the Veterans Affairs (VA). The sentence was issued by U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Thurston, according to U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.
