Gurjeet Bath, a 37-year-old resident of Fresno, has entered a guilty plea to one count of theft of government property. The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith.

Court documents reveal that Bath and his family operated two trucking businesses, G.S. Bath Inc. and Complete Transportation Solutions (CTS), based in Fresno County. In the years 2020 and 2021, Bath applied for three Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans, securing over $1 million by falsifying records to exaggerate the number of employees and their wages. Approximately $600,000 from these funds were used to purchase agricultural land in Fresno County.

The investigation into this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the Small Business Administration Office of Inspector General. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey A. Spivak is leading the prosecution.

Bath’s sentencing is set for October 6, 2025, before U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Thurston. He faces a maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment and a fine up to $250,000; however, the final sentence will be determined by the court considering statutory factors and Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
