A former employee has filed a class action lawsuit against a healthcare facility, alleging numerous labor law violations. The complaint was filed by Maria Cazares on November 3, 2025, in the Superior Court of California for the County of Sacramento against Oleander Holdings, LLC, doing business as Sacramento Post-Acute.

Maria Cazares claims that during her employment from June 2023 to February 2025 as a nurse at Sacramento Post-Acute, she and other similarly situated employees were subjected to various forms of wage abuse. The lawsuit accuses the defendants of failing to pay minimum wages, overtime wages, and reporting time wages. It also alleges that employees were not provided with required meal and rest breaks or compensated for missed breaks. Furthermore, the complaint states that wages were not paid timely during employment or upon termination and that employees did not receive accurate wage statements or reimbursement for necessary business expenses.

The legal basis for these allegations includes violations of multiple sections of the California Labor Code and the California Business & Professions Code. For instance, it is claimed that the defendants violated sections 1194, 1197, and 1197.1 by failing to pay minimum wages; sections 510 and 1198 by failing to pay overtime; and section 226(a) by providing inaccurate wage statements. Additionally, the lawsuit cites unfair business practices under section 17200 of the Business & Professions Code.

Cazares seeks class certification for all current and former hourly-paid employees who worked at Sacramento Post-Acute in California over the past four years. The relief sought includes unpaid wages, statutory penalties, interest on unpaid compensation, attorney’s fees, costs of suit, liquidated damages where applicable, and injunctive relief to prevent further violations.

Representing Maria Cazares are attorneys Ryan A. Quadrel, Shelby L. Miner, and Joseph O. Marshall from Blackstone Law APC based in Beverly Hills. The case is being heard in front of judges at the Superior Court of California in Sacramento under Case No.: 2 S02″ O’s 3 Es.
