A consumer in California has taken legal action against a major automobile manufacturer, alleging multiple violations of consumer protection laws. On November 7, 2025, Yunior Rangel filed a complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara, against Ford Motor Company. The case highlights serious allegations concerning vehicle defects and deceptive business practices.
Yunior Rangel, represented by attorneys from Marden Law, Inc., and MES Legal Inc., accuses Ford Motor Company of breaching both express and implied warranties under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. The plaintiff purchased a 2024 Ford Bronco on May 6, 2024, which reportedly exhibited significant defects affecting its use, value, and safety. According to the complaint, these issues were not resolved despite multiple repair attempts at authorized facilities. “Defendants violated the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act by failing to conform the Vehicle to the express written warranties within a reasonable number of repair attempts,” states the filing. Rangel argues that Ford’s failure to address these problems was willful and that they knowingly sold defective vehicles.
The lawsuit also claims that Ford engaged in unfair competition as defined by California Business & Professions Code § 17200. This includes accusations of unlawful business acts or practices such as installing defective components and performing negligent repairs due to financial incentives. The complaint asserts that these actions are “substantially injurious to consumers” and violate public policy.
Rangel seeks several forms of relief from the court. These include rescission of the sales contract for the vehicle, restitution for all costs incurred related to its purchase and maintenance, actual damages amounting to $41,656.34, consequential damages according to proof at trial, civil penalties under the Song-Beverly Act totaling twice the actual damages claimed, attorney’s fees as per statute and contract terms, prejudgment interest at maximum legal rates allowable by law; along with temporary restraining orders or preliminary injunctions preventing further violations during litigation proceedings.
The case is being handled by attorneys Ryan K. Marden from Marden Law Inc., located in Irvine CA; Neal F. Morrow III from MES Legal Inc., based out of Torrance CA; both firms are collaborating on behalf of their client Yunior Rangel against defendant Ford Motor Company under Case No.: 29CV479595 presided over by Judge M Johnson who reviewed this e-filed document dated November 7th 2025 at Santa Clara County’s Superior Court system.
