A group of condominium owners has taken legal action against their property management association, alleging financial misconduct and unfair practices. The complaint was filed by attorney Robert T. Tang on September 10, 2025, in the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara, against Vietnam Town Condominium Owners Association and several associated entities and individuals.

The plaintiffs, Hung Thai, Tuoi Le, Loan Nguyen, Lan Lam, Thu Mai Tran, Hien Nguyen, Amy Vu, and Nang Tran, accuse the defendants of embezzlement, breach of fiduciary duty, and engaging in unfair business practices under California’s Business and Professions Code § 17200 et seq. The plaintiffs allege that the defendants have misappropriated funds from the association for personal gain. They claim that Joseph Nguyen and other board members sold condominium units at reduced dues to certain favored individuals while neglecting necessary repairs within the development.

The complaint further details how sham elections were allegedly conducted to maintain control over the board of directors. It is claimed that these elections involved forged signatures and votes cast for ineligible units. This manipulation purportedly allowed individuals like Johnson Wong to be positioned as future leaders within the association despite having no known connection to the community.

Plaintiffs are seeking restitution amounting to millions of dollars from various defendants for unpaid or underpaid dues and penalties. They also request injunctive relief to prevent further unlawful practices by the defendants. Additionally, they demand treble damages along with attorney’s fees and litigation costs.

Representing the plaintiffs is attorney Robert T. Tang from San Jose. The case is being reviewed by Judge Y. Chavez under Case No.: 25CV474814.
