A California nonprofit organization is facing a class-action lawsuit for alleged labor violations that could impact many of its employees. Natasha Henry filed the complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento, on November 3, 2025, against her former employer, Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento. The suit accuses the nonprofit of failing to comply with various provisions of the California Labor Code and engaging in unfair business practices.

The plaintiff, Natasha Henry, claims that during her employment as an hourly-paid caregiver from February to March 2025, she was not compensated for all hours worked, including overtime. The lawsuit alleges that Children’s Receiving Home systematically failed to pay minimum wages and overtime compensation and did not provide legally mandated meal and rest periods. “Defendants maintained a systematic, company-wide policy and practice” that resulted in numerous violations of labor laws, according to the complaint.

Henry also asserts that the nonprofit failed to reimburse necessary business expenses incurred by employees and did not furnish accurate wage statements. The complaint highlights issues such as requiring employees to work off-the-clock and using personal devices for work-related tasks without reimbursement. Furthermore, it claims that final wages were not paid promptly upon termination as required by law.

The lawsuit seeks various forms of relief from the court. These include unpaid wages for minimum and overtime work, penalties for inaccurate wage statements, reimbursement for business expenses, waiting time penalties for delayed final payments upon termination, and injunctive relief to prevent future violations. Additionally, Henry is seeking class certification to represent other similarly affected employees who have worked for Children’s Receiving Home within the statutory period.

Representing Natasha Henry are attorneys Seung L. Yang, Tiffany Hyun, and Won Christina Chang from The Sentinel Firm APC based in Los Angeles. The case has been assigned Case No.: 2 50>” OB SS in the Superior Court of California in Sacramento County.
