California Attorney General Rob Bonta has announced that the California Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Los Angeles. The incident occurred on July 14, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m. and resulted in the death of one individual. The investigation is being conducted under Assembly Bill 1506 (AB 1506) and involves personnel from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The DOJ’s California Police Shooting Investigation Team began its investigation following notification of the incident. Once completed, the findings will be reviewed by the DOJ’s Special Prosecutions Section within the Criminal Law Division.
