California Attorney General Rob Bonta has announced that the California Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Corona, California. The incident occurred on November 18, 2025, at approximately 12:18 a.m. and involved officers from the Corona Police Department. The shooting resulted in the death of one civilian.
The DOJ’s California Police Shooting Investigation Team began its investigation as soon as it was informed about the incident. This process follows the requirements set by Assembly Bill 1506 (AB 1506), which directs the DOJ to investigate certain officer-involved shootings in California. After the investigation is complete, the findings will be sent to the DOJ’s Special Prosecutions Section within its Criminal Law Division for an independent review.
